2008 Christmas Fun Begins!

We have the most awesome friends in the whole world. Teresa went to high school with Marvin Hull. He has done a Christmas party for their school group for over 25 years.
It began with just the school group, but as our families grew, he continued to include his friends and all of their children. The group is now over 100 people! He always themes the parties, and we have a wonderful time every year. We love and appreciate him and his family for their selfless love!

DECEMBER 13 - 3RD ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LIGHT PARADE

The city youth council started this tradition. Each year it gets bigger. The parade begins at the natatorium and goes to the armory, where the children can greet Santa Claus and get a surprise from him. They serve hot cocoa and there is a wonderful fireworks display.

Cameron receives the Eagle Scout Award

Cameron received the Eagle Scout Award on November 25, 2008.

Grandpa and Grandma Keller and Grandma Bjorkman were all there to support Cameron.

Cameron's Eagle project was working with his mom on the new Children's Room at the Garland Public Library. He and other scouts donated over 130 hours to help with emptying out the basement of the library, removing old carpets, painting walls, and moving shelving and books. The project was a big success, and because his mother is the library director, we can share with you that over 3,000 community members enjoyed that room in the first year it was open!

Jared and Candace enjoyed a hayride with their new neighbors for part of their Halloween celebration. We missed them here, but we know they are growing and learning!

Fall Fun

We went to a pumpkin patch for pumpkins this year. What a beautiful evening! We created lots of amazing jackolanterns! And Beckah decided to eat the insides during the process!

Chris had fun this year with his Scarecrow costume. He wandered around and stopped every once in a while to pose as a straw Scarecrow. Kids thought he wasn't real, until he moved.
He posed on Grandma's front porch holding the bowl of goodies. That startled a few innocent children.

ONE HAPPY FAMILY!

"Trick or Treat!"....or.... "Trunk or Treat!".... Each year, we enjoy dressing up for the evening, then rushing over to the Tabernacle parking lot where hundreds of Spooks join together for trunk or treating! It is a fun holiday! Our area has made it a new tradition to come together for trick or treating. Everyone backs their vehicles into parking spaces, and the children walk from vehicle the vehicle. And the parking lot is always filled to capacity! For the past several years the wards have also offered a Chili dinner right after the trunk or treating, usually at the church Bowery. The whole process lasts about an hour, unless friends linger at the Bowery to visit.
Following these festivities, we always enjoy going to Grandma Bjorkman's home to hang out for a while.

Teresa's "Career"

This is my home away from home. (One of my children razzed me once that my job can't be referred to as a 'career'.) I beg to differ at this point! I have been working at the Garland Library for about 5 years now, and I have been Library Director for over 2 years. My job includes working with the public, writing grants, purchasing materials, completing annual reports, and much more. Our old Carnegie building will be 100 years old in 2010. I really enjoy my job there. I especially enjoy being 'the boss'.

Beckah Bug's first chair experience

I decided to sit Beckah on her own little pink Dora

the Explorer chair. First thing she did was start body slamming back and forth. She almost bucked it backwards! She was so excited! Then she decided to turn around in it so she could see the picture of Dora. And look at that hair. She definitely got her daddy's hair. (August 08)

Rental Home Project

About two years ago, Stan purchased an older home that had been lifted and moved from it's original foundation. He had it placed on a new foundation. The initial investment for the structure was the cost for moving the home - ($5,000.00) Two years later, after hundreds of hours of labor and sweat equity, the project is finally completed. Well, almost. It has new electrical, plumbing, and will be heated with water. As you can see, it is beautiful. We have grown quite fond of it! Renters will move in on November 1. (Hope they take care of our pride and joy project!)

Beckah Bug

These photos of Beckah were taken in July. She is growing so fast, and has so much personality!

Chris and Susie have been here a lot this summer, and we have loved having them here. Chris comes often to help with our rental home - never ending - something needs to be fixed - again - projects. Love him bunches for that!

Cascade Springs

One of the beautiful sights to see while visiting Midway is the Cascade Springs. Before parting ways, we took a winding drive up the mountain side to find them. We walked along a board walk overhanging cascading water, moss and foliage of greens and yellows. Stan stopped at the bridge, looking as though he wanted to touch and admire the water, but really he was just waiting for someone to come by to splash water on.

WorldMark - Midway, Utah!

We arrived in Midway and headed up the mountainside to these beautiful condominiums.
